Brockton Physical Therapy | Treatments | Ultrasound

Ultrasound provides deep heat that increase blood flow to promote healing and tissue flexibility to decrease pain and muscle spasms. It has been proven to increase tissue relaxation and local blood flow, which can help reduce local swelling and chronic inflammation as well as promoting bone fracture healing. It is also good for breaking down scar tissue.

Brockton Physical Therapy | Treatments | Electrical Stimulation | E-stim

Electrical Stimulation (E-stim)

Electrical muscle stimulation is also known as E-stim, neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) or electromyostimulation. Mild electrical current is conducted through electrodes placed at nerve trigger points to mask pain signals, allowing for relief and relaxation. E-stim can also be used to maintain and improve muscle strength.

Brockton Physical Therapy | Treatments | Laser Therapy | LLLT

Laser Therapy (LLLT)

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is the application of red and near infra-red low-level (low-power) lasers or light-emitting diodes (LEDs) over injuries or lesions to improve wound and soft tissue healing, reduce inflammation and provide relief for both acure and chronic pain. It is very useful in the treatment of acute sports injuries.

Brockton Physical Therapy | Treatments | Electrical Stimulation | Heat Therapy | Cold Therapy | Ice Therapy

Heat and Ice

Moist heat increases blood flow to the area being treated, which brings nutrients to the injury and carries away wastes. It is used to relax muscles and joints, as well as to promote healing. Cold therapy (ice) is usually done with cold packs or ice massage used to relieve pain, swelling and inflammation by decreasing blood flow and fluid in the area on which it is applied.

Brockton Physical Therapy | Treatments | Kinesio Taping

Kinesio Taping

Kinesio tape is a rehabilitative taping technique designed to facilitate the body's natural healing process. It is strategically applied to facilitate healing as well as add support and stability without restricting motion. Kinesio taping also provides extended soft tissue manipulation to prolong the benefits of manual therapy treatments. The tape is latex-free and wearable for days at a time.

Brockton Physical Therapy | Treatments | Bracing

Bracing can be used to protect an injured area from further injury and add stability during recovery. It is also a therapy option for joints that have become uneven or unstable due to illness, injury or a chronic condition. We can provide you with off-the-shelf, semi-custom and fully customized braces to suit your needs for any body part.

Brockton Physical Therapy | Treatments | Exercise / Strengthening

Exercise / Strengthening

Exercise / strengthening improves overall fitness, balance, posture and mobility. We can also strengthen and improve flexibility in targeted areas both before and after surgery.

Brockton Physical Therapy | Treatments | Manual Therapy

Manual Therapy

Manual therapy is also known as manipulative therapy. It involves the skilled hands-on passive movement of joints (joint mobilization / joint manipulation) and soft tissue (soft tissue mobilization / soft tissue manipulation).

Brockton Physical Therapy | Treatments | Vestibular Rehab

Vestibular Rehab

Each person has two vestibular apparatuses on each sides of our heads, which are involved with controlling balance and eye movements. When both are functioning correctly, they send symmetrical impulses to the brain. Disease or injury can damage any of the processing areas within any part of the vestibular system, including the vestibular apparatus. We provide specialized balance and vestibular rehabilitation services to improve your balance performance and help you return safely to daily activity and sport.
